Residents of Shannondale’s Buckingham Community Participate in Jerusalema Dance Challenge

To welcome spring and celebrate a return to normalcy, residents in the Buckingham Community at Shannondale Senior Living are participating in the Jerusalema Dance Challenge. This routine went viral on social media last year and has been undertaken by people all over the world. It originated in South Africa and has been a source of hope to thousands across the globe during the pandemic. Participants of the challenge upload a video of themselves performing the dance to social media, then tag their friends and family members and challenge them to do the same.

The song the dance is performed to is titled ‘Jerusalema’ and is a gospel-influenced song by Master KG and Nocebo sung in the Zulu language.

On Saturday, May 1st, the residents have scheduled an outdoor socially-distanced Jerusalema Dance Challenge. We’re so happy to see our residents return to engaging in social activities.
