Recent Happenings

The Shannondale of Maryville “Senior Scout” program has just started meeting in the Activity Room of the Assisted Living building. Theresa Passons, a staff Activities Coordinator (pictured on the left), started the program. Participants are enjoying visiting with each other and earning badges which they paste into their own badge booklets. Gail Yook (on the right), is a life-long Girl Scout and she volunteers with the Knoxville Girl Scout Museum at Daisy’s Place. She brought a mannequin dressed in a 1940’s uniform to share with the group.

Any Shannondale resident is encouraged to attend meetings and to help with activities. The next meeting is Monday, June 24, and they will be making Girl Scout S’mores! The words to this Girl Scout song are so very appropriate at Shannondale: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other’s gold.”

Meet Our Team - Shannondale of Maryville:

• Kris Newvine, our Director of Social Services and Admissions, is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in social work and a passion for assisting nursing home residents. She manages all new admissions with care and compassion, ensuring a smooth transition for residents and their families.
  
• Linda Lairamore, our Director of Rehabilitation, is a certified speech pathologist with a master's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With her expertise, she oversees our rehabilitation programs, empowering residents to progress toward independence.

Day trip to Fall Creek Falls! Shannondale of Knoxville Buckingham residents enjoyed fellowship and fun on this outing! What fun to explore with friends!

Shannondale of Knoxville Buckingham residents enjoyed a spontaneous trip to Cades Cove last weekend. The fireflies lit up the trees like Christmas lights, and the night sky was absolutely breathtaking. Here are some of the magical moments they captured!
